Ian Bailey - Candidate for November 7th By-Election Central Buchan

15 Oct 2024
Cllr Anne Simpson with Candidate Ian Bailey

Cllr, Anne Simpson said, 'I was delighted to be elected as one of the councillors in the Central Buchan Ward in May 2017, and again in May 2022. It has been a huge pleasure to represent you, to be a champion for the area, to fight to ensure that local services – education, health and social care, housing, roads and the environment – are as good as they can be in these difficult times. I have a good track record of hard work, and getting things done. In Ian you would have a similar dedicated local Councillor who would work hard for you.

The role of the Council has changed as money has become tighter, and it needs to look at doing things differently, listening to local people so the actions it takes are the right ones. It needs councillors who will bring a different perspective to its work. I believe that Ian has the skills, experience and personal qualities to represent your interests in the Council. If he is elected as your Councillor, we will work hard together to make sure your voice is heard when decisions are being made.

Ian lives in New Pitsligo with his wife Sonia and their two children. Originally from Lancashire, Ian and his family fulfilled a life-long ambition with a move to Aberdeenshire in 2021. Ian works as a commercial consultant in the food industry. He and his wife Sonia have transformed the former Bank of Scotland building in New Pitsligo to open a stationers and gift shop, supporting local crafters and artisans with selling space for their products.

Please help elect Ian by giving him your 1st or 2nd preference vote for the by-election on the 7th November.'
