Moray Council Elections see a large increase in the Lib Dems votes and a councillor elected.

On the 5th of May, the re-emergence of the Scottish Liberal Democrats in Moray started.

Actually, it started the day the nominations closed, we gained our first councillor on Moray council with the unopposed election of Christopher Price in Ward 3 Buckie [Pictured on right]. We also had 6 six candidates for the 8 wards. Previously in 2017, there were two.

We increased our cote by 242%.

Our share of the vote increased from 327 1st preference votes across 2 wards in 2017 to 1121 across the 5 contested wards. We also saw large increases in the 2nd and 3rd preferences. All of this indicates that the Scottish Liberal Democrats are back and building in Moray.

We fielded candidates in Keith and Cullen, Buckie, Fochabers and Lhybnbride, Heldon and Laich, Elgin North and Elgin South. If you live in Speyside and Glenlivet, or Forres and are interested in helping the Scottish Liberal Democrats, get in touch.

Join us as we build for the future.
