Commenting as the Justice Secretary launches the latest phase of the No Knives, Better Lives campaign, Scottish Liberal Democrat justice spokesperson Alison McInnes MSP said today: "The No Knives Better Lives campaign is a really positive scheme with a strong message backed up by robust action.
"Successful campaigns such as this take a lot of dedication and hard work from people who know their local communities.
"That's why the Justice Secretary's moves towards a single police force could put this campaign at real risk. His plans could see a reduction in police staff and a police force that is less locally accountable.
"The Justice Secretary needs to explain what he will do to ensure that great campaigns like this will continue to be as successful as he moves towards a single police force for Scotland."
