Smith disappointment at “sinister” change in climate change protest

Commenting as police have arrested climate change campaigners in Edinburgh and reports that protesters have spread an oil-like substance over the city bypass, Liberal Democrat MSP for Edinburgh West Margaret Smith said:
"I fully support climate change activists' right to protest peacefully. However, reports suggest they have crossed a line by recklessly endangering people's lives.
"This is absolutely unacceptable and the police are right to take action to protect innocent people going about their daily lives.
"I understand that RBS offered the protesters a meeting to discuss their concerns. I'm disappointed that in addition to turning this meeting down, some protesters have turned a largely peaceful protest into something much more sinister."
