Local Politicians, Alison McInnes and Malcolm Bruce have been campaigning for a new health centre for Ellon for some time now. Following a series of meetings with Health Board chiefs, NHS Grampian has acknowledged that there is a problem to be addressed.

McInnes and Bruce, along with Ellon Councillor, Isobel Davidson, have launched a petition in Ellon for "A New Health Centre fit for the 21st Century."

Up until now NHS have not identified or earmarked a budget for a new premises but says its capital plan from 2014 onwards could include this finance.

Ellon is missing out on new services as there is no space for them.

This petition will give the people of Ellon the chance to have their voices heard.

Alison McInnes MSP commented:

"While other similar sized communities are being given additional health provision, Ellon is losing out because of lack of space. NHS Grampian needs to respond to the growing needs of our community. With the help of Ellon residents we will continue to campaign for a heath centre fit for 21st century."

Malcolm Bruce MP said:

"The town has now expanded to the point where the current health centre simply cannot meet patient demand. I encourage all Ellon residents to sign the petition."

Cllr Davidson said:

"The doctors at the Ellon Surgery are great but they are in desperate need of a modern, fit for purpose premises."
