Commenting on the report into the crimes of Neil Strachan and Scotland's worst paedophile ring that highlights significant failings in the child protection system, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Tavish Scott MSP said:

"This report demonstrates the need for Government to review how the sex offenders register works.

"The public must have confidence in it.

"There's not much point in a register if it allows someone on it to commit such atrocious crimes."
