Scott demands statement on sex offenders

Tavish ScottScottish Liberal Democrat leader Tavish Scott MSP has demanded the Scottish Government make a statement about sex offenders, following the sentencing of two men at the centre of Scotland's largest known child abuse network.
One of the men jailed was already on the sex offenders register.
Commenting, Mr Scott said:
"Kenny MacAskill must make a statement to Parliament next week explaining what the Government is going to do.
"People don't understand how a man on the sex offenders register can have been involved in a paedophile ring and for that not to have been detected.
"We need an urgent explanation as to how the Government is going to make the sex offenders list work."
