Responding to the NHS complaints statistics published by ISD Scotland today, Liberal Democrat Health Spokesman Ross Finnie MSP said:
"The NHS staff deserve praise for their work in reducing complaints and improving service for patients.
"Complaints have fallen in the last year across almost all areas of the NHS but almost one third of complaints were not dealt with within the target of 20 working days. This is clearly something for the Health Secretary to work on.
"Another black spot in these statistics is the rise in complaints for Family Health Services. Family health practitioners and managers need to examine this carefully, to cut the level of complaints."
