Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Tavish Scott MSP has demanded that ahead of the parliamentary debate on Wednesday, the SNP publish all information about the Justice Secretary's unprecedented visit to the convicted Lockerbie bomber.
Commenting, Mr Scott said:
"The Justice Secretary had an unenviable decision to make about the Lockerbie bomber.
"But how on earth are people in Scotland to understand why Kenny MacAskill released a convicted mass murderer when there are so many gaps in the story?
"We still have no information about the Justice Secretary's widely condemned personal prison visit to Megrahi. The SNP needs to publish everything about this unprecedented visit before the parliamentary debate on Wednesday. We need to see what was discussed and what was agreed.
"Alex Salmond promised transparency; we are still waiting."
