Commenting on Tory MSP John Lamont's appointment as the candidate for the Westminster seat of Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk, Liberal Democrat Chief Whip Mike Rumbles said:
"This is utter hypocrisy from the Scottish Conservatives.
"Annabel Goldie berates 3- jobs-Salmond in one breath, but at the same time urges John Lamont to try and top up his income by trying for an MP's seat.
"People in Roxburgh & Berwickshire deserve a full time MSP just as much those in Gordon. Mr Lamont's selection as candidate for the Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk seat has totally undermined the Scottish Conservatives' credibility in the Borders. It's a disastrous start to his campaign and will surely be a hurdle to him retaining his Scottish Parliamentary seat too."
