Commenting on the establishment of a working group set up to look into the creation of a National Fraud Office in Scotland, Liberal Democrat Justice spokesperson Robert Brown MSP said:
"Ministers must ensure that a new National Fraud Office is properly resourced with access to high level financial expertise. Liberal Democrats also want to make sure that any new body maintains close links with Scotland's regional police forces.
"This is potentially a very important initiative in the fight against organised crime in Scotland. The reality is that white collar crime can cost the public millions of pounds a year."
